It’s official, fieldwork for the TrackFLU project is now underway as of early January!
We have kicked things off in Takeo province, where we are exploring a variety of poultry trading and production systems. This includes visits to live bird markets, poultry farms, storage and slaughter facilities, and even free-grazing flocks.
Interviews with stakeholders, as well as bird and environmental sampling, are in full swing, and we are eagerly awaiting the first diagnostic results.
The logistics are challenging, but we are quickly finding our rhythm. Early mornings, site visits, revising interviews, dispatching samples to IPC, and even late-night work—it’s been a demanding but rewarding process. Despite the busy and ever-changing schedule, the team’s energy and dedication are incredible. A big thank you to everyone involved!
